Over 200 students and parents attended our Hunger Awareness Evening on October 22nd, 2014. With a combination of interactive games, an impacting guest speaker, taste of a MannaPack, Prayer Partner Group time, informative & moving songs & video presentations, and a reflection & prayer from Father Jim & Father David, grades 6-12 families were able to come together and be empowered to make a difference - both locally & globally! Each family received an envelope (pictured above) and were asked, if able, to donate to Feed My Starving Children & Mary's Meals. Additionally, each family was given a wicker basket to keep in a prominent place in their kitchen. The Hunger Awareness tag reads:
This basket is a visible reminder of how blessed we are to have food & a reminder of our ability to help those who do not.
"For I was hungry & you gave me food, I was thirsty & you gave me drink, a stranger & you welcomed me." ~Jesus
Students can bring in their non-perishable food items on Rel. Ed. nights and place the items in the green shopping cart labeled "Hunger Awareness". Thank you!
